More Bad Press for Lululemon!

I've been offline for only a few days (sick, not fun!) and as I return I see this article titled:

Lululemon 'Inadvertently' Sold A Bunch Of Sheer Pants Again

This article talks of how Lululemon has sold some of their old "sheer" stock from last year's recall online during the Online Canadian Warehouse Sale.  Wow!  I managed to get a few items from the sale but any bottoms that were posted on the site went during the early hours of the morning (meaning way before 5:30 am EST when I saw the sale) and so I didn't manage to snag any bottoms on sale.  Apparently, the retailer dropped prices for some crops as low as $39 which is like baiting a hook for the many circling fish in the sea of Lululemonheads!  Now, I do not speak of ill of these people, as I am one of them of course, but I am only referring to the fact that those of us who are fans of the brand, true fans, are waiting for crazy prices like this to happen!  We wait and we click the items into our carts as quickly as possible.  Most of us are so excited to see a low price on an item that we want that is in OUR SIZE!  What else would we do but load up those virtual shopping carts and whip out our credit cards (ok, I'll be honest, most of us no longer have to even look at our cards do we???) and press submit order?

What Lululemon didn't advertise along side their low low prices, was that some of these great deals were on pants that no one wanted last year!  Pants that have ladies everywhere trying on workout gear and doing the 'bend test' in front of mirrors in dressing rooms/bedrooms, in front of husbands, best friends (the honest ones only) and store clerks alike to hear those magical words, "Not sheer at all!"  Pants that have us all a little wary to try a downward dog in a new pair of yoga crops when at one time, we'd take off the tags, run to a class and not have a second thought that our pants weren't concealing our underwear, hang tags on the inside of the pants, and for those who go commando, our lady bits!  Ahhh, I remember that time fondly when we didn't have to think about these things.

So, what happens now if you have received some of these old stock sheer pants from the warehouse sale?   All sale items are always clearly stated to be FINAL SALE ONLY.  Apparently, if you have a little sticker on the tags that reads, "things don't always go as planned" they can be returned for a refund.  So, apparently these were in stock and marked as pants that were not up to snuff in the quality department, and accidentally managed to get themselves on the online warehouse sale, and then shipped to customers.   On the one hand, most of us who have been affected by the sheer debacle are sceptical and wonder if they hoped that this would be the way to finally rid the warehouses of all of this old sheer stock?  The other hand, I think it is cool of them to accept those items back with a full refund as everyone knows that sale items are final sale and they could have stuck by that too.  I like to be an optimist so I hope that this was a nice gesture by a company who has certainly landed themselves in some hot water with their loyal customer base and hopefully this is a sign of more good choices to come on the part of Lululemon.

Anyone who has received any of these items with the tag that reads, "things don't always go as planned", you should look into a return with a GEC online.

Cheers!
Jamie
